What I do at Thalamos
I'm in charge of everything technical at Thalamos - Engineering, Quality Assurance, Integrations. I make sure we produce quality software and get it into users' hands on schedule.
Who am I?
A philosopher and mathematician by background, I've worked in start-ups, scale-ups, and start up accelerators my whole career - right from one-person companies through to fast-growth VC-backed scale-ups.
I care about making Digital Health and have spent the last 6 years of my career trying to improve disconnected workflows and electronic patient records technologies in the NHS. Thalamos, and the scale of usage it's now getting, is the best opportunity I've seen yet to make a difference in this space.

- Respect - I need to feel respected and valued by the people I work with, and will offer the same
- Humility - I value humility in myself and in my peers and leaders
- Impact - I want the company to have a positive overall direct impact on the world and for me specifically being in my role at that company to make a non-negligible difference to that impact.
- Ethical Practice - doing things the ‘right’ way and being compliant with regulations matters to me. The ends do not justify the means
- Open culture - I work in organisations which is used to doing open healthy conflict resolution, preventing problems escalating and leading to toxicity

Advice for prospective candidates
I value colleagues and team members who over-index on communication and making software which is easy to read and understand for their peers. Code should be easy to test and debug, pragmatically and minimally architected, and should focus on the needs of users first and foremost.
Technical skill matters, but I'm looking for people who recognise that building software is first and foremost a human activity.
